Long time no post!

Since I last posted I've got married, been on my honeymoon and Christmas has come and gone. I definitely need to get my arse in gear and update more often. This is going to be an image heavy post, I'm just going to dump all the best bits that I've done since October. I've been quite productive and recently seen my skills and speed increase quite a lot I think, mostly thanks to trying out new techniques.

So, going chronologically I'll start with some Fallout bits. Tribals first, then Brotherhood of Steel:





Next I did Gor Half-Horn for Necromunda. I'm really pleased with how he turned out, i tried to pull out all the stops on him:





Then most recently I fancied a foray into fantasy. First up I did a Stormcast Eternal with a Space Wolf head swap. I'm really not a fan of Stormcasts with helmets, I think it takes away their personalit.



I then painted Zuun Akos from Hasslefree Miniatures. He's an awesome sculpt so I fancied trying something new on him, so I attempted Non Metallic Metal on the sword. It went alright for a first attempt, I'll definitely try it again and improve on my technique.




So that's all the good stuff! There's a few other bits that I got around to painting but these are the main pieces. At the moment I'm finishing off some Scibor goblins that I'm really enjoying painting. After that there's a barbarian adventurer and five Squat Terminators to crack on with. I've also ordered Kal Jerico, Scabbs and Mad Donna from Games Workshop as they're currently on made to order for a week so I'm looking forward to receiving them, you can never have too many projects!

Hello one and all. Long time no post again, but I intend to update much now often now given the changes that have occurred in my gaming life, namely that I'm actually gaming! I've recently gone from being a hobby painter to playing games, and it's amazing what a difference it's made to my overall painting work ethic. I finally went to a local gaming club and dipped a toe in with Warcry, which I found really fun. So I picked up the Corvus Cabal warband, although it was close between them and the Splintered Fang. I painted the Corvus Cabal in a week! The fastest I've ever painted a group of nine miniatures to a decent standard. I gave them the name the Birds of Paradise, giving them a brighter colour scheme than the GW standard. Dark Angel progress and Victrix Early Imperial Romans

Hi all. I've made some progress with my Dark Angels and started a side project as an attempt to prevent the Dark Angels from burning me out. My painting room is out of action at the moment but my current setup in the dining room is actually making me rethink my layout upstairs! Here's where I'm at now : It's a pretty comfy table to sit at, definitely better for my posture than my usual old computer desk. So first up the Dark Angels. I got an eight man tactical squad finished, just need some basing applying when my painting room is back in order. I'm pretty pleased with the overall look, edge highlighting is getting tons easier for me now. I've also started on the Dark Vengeance marines, with three bikes getting near finished and I've started base coating the Deathwing too. The beginning of my Guard army - Cadian Armoured Fist

My first proper blog post is going to be about my latest foray into Warhammer 40000. I've been painting individual models mostly since I started painting again and I'm equally excited and apprehensive to paint a full army with a cohesive colour scheme and theme.   I chose Imperial Guard because they seem to me to have more individual character than armoured troops such as Eldar or Space Marines and are easier to relate with than xenos races like the Orks. I'm aiming to do small conversions such as head swaps throughout the army just to avoid them being a mass of identical drones. I've started with the Cadian armoured fist as shown above and below. After messing around with khakis and greens I ended up settling on a grey colour scheme. The red pauldrons on the armour are to make the models stand out a little better on the board.
